Veronica Calabrese (born November 7, 1987 in Werdohl ) is an Italian Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 57 kilograms.

Calabrese celebrated its first successes in the junior sector. In the class up to 52 kilograms she won bronze at the junior world championship in 2002 in Heraklion , in the class up to 59 kilograms she was junior European champion in Athens in 2003 and junior world champion in Suncheon in 2004 . In the adult area, Calabrese debuted in 2005. At the European Championships in Riga she reached the quarter-finals, at the World Cup in Madrid the last sixteen. In the following year she finally won her first European Championship medal with bronze in Bonn . Calabrese qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . She was only defeated in the semifinals against Lim Su-jeong and narrowly missed a medal after another defeat in the battle for bronze against Diana Lopez . At the 2009 World Championships in Copenhagen she reached the final and won her first World Championship medal with silver, and her second bronze medal at the 2010 European Championship in Saint Petersburg .

Calabrese is a sports soldier . In 2010 she became a lightweight military world champion in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu .
