Dennis Bekkers (born November 29, 1980 in 's-Hertogenbosch ) is a Dutch Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 68 kilograms.

Bekkers played his first international title fights at the European Junior Championship in Zagreb in 1996 , where he made it to the semi-finals and won bronze. He achieved his breakthrough in the adult sector at the 2002 European Championships in Samsun , where he also won bronze in the class up to 67 kilograms. The year 2005 was also successful. In Madrid he was only defeated by Mark Lopez in the semi-finals of the World Cup and won his first World Cup medal with bronze, and in Riga he also became vice European champion. A year later he became European champion for the first time in Bonn and won his first international title. Bekkers qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , where he was defeated in the opening fight Son Tae-jin and finished seventh after another defeat in the round of hope against Servet Tazegül . At the 2010 European Championships in Saint Petersburg , Bekkers won his fifth European Championship medal with bronze. He narrowly missed participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London , and at the European Olympic qualification tournament in Kazan he lost the decisive battle for third place against Hryhorij Hussarov .

Bekkers is a sports soldier . At World Military Championships, he won a total of four middleweight medals, including two gold medals.
