The 2002 Taekwondo European Championships took place from May 6th to 10th, 2002 in Samsun , Turkey . The title fights were organized by the European Taekwondo Union (ETU). A total of 16 competitions took place, eight each for women and men in different weight classes.
The most successful nation was the host with six gold medals, as well as two silver and three bronze medals. Spain and the Netherlands followed in the places. German fighters secured a total of five bronze medals, one bronze also went to Austria .
