Lee Dae-hoon ( Korean 이대훈 ; * February 5, 1992 in Seoul ) is a South Korean Taekwondoin who starts in the fly and bantamweight division .

Career

Lee played his first international title fights at the Junior Asian Championships in 2009 in Kisch , but he retired early in the class up to 59 kilograms. In the following year, however, he made his breakthrough in the adult sector. He was accepted into the national team, in the class up to 63 kilograms, he won the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou . This title win and many subsequent media appearances brought Lee a certain fame and popularity in his home country. He also took part in the class up to 63 kilograms at the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju . With five sovereign victories, he made it to the final, defeating Michael Harvey there and becoming world champion for the first time. In 2012, Lee won the Asian championship for the first time with a final victory over Pen-Ek Karaket in Ho Chi Minh City .

In the middle of 2011, Lee took part in the international Olympic qualification tournament in the class up to 58 kilograms in Baku . He lost to Yulis Mercedes in the semifinals , but defeated Tamer Bayoumi in the decisive battle for third place and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . There he won the silver medal after losing to Joel González in the final . In 2016 he won the bronze medal in the class up to 68 kilograms at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro by beating the Belgian Jaouad Achab . He won his second title at the 2017 World Championships . A year later he won another gold medal at the Asian Games .
