Coupray is about 20 kilometers southwest of Chaumont am Aujon . Coupray is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Châteauvillain in the north and north-west, Cour-l'Évêque in the east, Aubepierre-sur-Aube in the south, Dancevoir in the south-west and Latrecey-Ormoy-sur-Aube in the west.
