Chaumont-la-Ville is a French commune with 116 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Chaumont and the municipality association Meuse Rognon, founded in 2017 .
geography
The municipality of Chaumont-la-Villee is located in the Bassigny countryside near the upper Meuse , 30 kilometers west-southwest of Vittel and about 48 kilometers east of the departmental capital Chaumont . In the east, the municipality borders on the Vosges department . The 11.22 km² large municipal area is characterized by a ridge running in a west-east direction, which limits the municipality in the north. The valley of the Ruisseau de la Deuil extends south of the ridge . This river flows into the Ruisseau du Grand Étang in the west of the municipality , which flows three kilometers further west into the Meuse. In the east of the municipality, three periodically water-bearing brooks arise that flow northeast to the Mouzon . The steeper slopes in the north are forested; in the south there is a large forest area with the Bois du Courcheron and in the southeast with the Bois de la Dergente a smaller forest area. The largest part of the community area consists of arable and pasture areas. Immediately north of the village of Chaumont-la-Ville, a nameless hill rises 439 m above sea level, the nearby Haut de Tourmont reaches 434 m. Chaumont-la-Ville is surrounded by the neighboring communities Graffigny-Chemin in the north, Vrécourt in the north-east, Robécourt in the east, Blevaincourt in the south-east, Champigneulles-en-Bassigny in the south, Doncourt-sur-Meuse in the west and Malaincourt-sur-Meuse in the Northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
The municipality of Chaumont-la-Ville is dominated by the countryside. Eight farms are located in the community (grain cultivation, cattle breeding, dairy farming).
From Chaumont-la-Ville there are road connections to all neighboring communities. In the south-east, Chaumont-la-Ville has a connection to the A31 toll road . The train station in Rozières-sur-Mouzon, five kilometers away, is on the Merrey – Vittel railway line .
