Lanty-sur-Aube is a French commune with 121 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Chaumont and the canton of Châteauvillain . In addition, the community is part of the company founded in 2003 Municipalities of Les Trois Forêts . The inhabitants are called Lantilloux .

Lanty-sur-Aube is located west of the Aube about 60 kilometers southeast of Troyes and 29 kilometers west-southwest of the small town of Chaumont in the west of the Haute-Marne department on the border with the Aube and Côte-d'Or departments . The municipality consists of the village of Lanty-sur-Aube and is covered over large areas by forest.
Neighboring municipalities are Villars-en-Azois in the north-west, Silvarouvres in the north, Dinteville in the north-east and east, Latrecey-Ormoy-sur-Aube in the south-east, Gevrolles (in the Côte-d'Or department) in the south, Riel-les-Eaux (in Département Côte-d'Or) in the southwest and Cunfin (in the Département Aube) in the west.
history
In 1286 Jean de Chastenay was feudal lord of the municipality. Until the French Revolution, Lanty-sur-Aube was within the Bailliage de Chaumont . The parish belonged to the Chaumont district from 1793 to 1801. Since 1801 it has been part of the Chaumont arrondissement. From 1793 to 1801 the place was assigned to the canton Laferté-sur-Aube. Since 1801 the municipality has been located within the canton of Châteauvillain (called Ville-sur-Aujon until 1814).
