(68114) Deákferenc is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on January 1, 2001 by the Hungarian amateur astronomer Krisztián Sárneczky and the Hungarian astronomer László Kiss at the Piszkéstető observatory ( IAU code 561) in the northern Hungarian Mátra Mountains on behalf of the Budapest Konkoly Observatory was discovered. The asteroid had already been sighted on June 9 and 15, 1999 under the provisional designation 1999 LA 23 at the Lincoln Laboratory Experimental Test System in Socorro , New Mexico as part of the Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) project.

With an albedo of 0.031 (± 0.016), the asteroid has a very dark surface.

(68114) Deákferenc was named on May 14, 2014 after the Hungarian politician Ferenc Deák (1803–1876), who initiated the 1867 settlement between Hungary and Austria .
