Piszkéstető observatory
The Piszkéstető Observatory is an observatory in Hungary . It is located in the municipality of Mátraszentimre on the 944 m high Piszkés-tető mountain in the Mátra Mountains , a good 90 kilometers northeast of the capital Budapest . It was built in the 1960s and 1970s. The observatory is part of the Konkoly Observatory and is operated by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences .
Among other things, asteroids were discovered at the Piszkéstető observatory. The discoverers include Milan Antal , Zsuzsanna Heiner , László Kiss , Szabolcs Mészáros , Krisztián Sárneczky , Brigitta Sipőcz and Gyula M. Szabó .

The observatory has the following telescopes:
- a 1.01 m Ritchey-Chrétien telescope with a Coudé focus since 1974
- a 60/90/180 Schmidt telescope since 1962
- a 50 cm Cassegrain telescope since 1966
- a 40 cm Ritchey-Chrétien telescope since 2010
