Ageville is a French commune with 309 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Chaumont and to the municipality association Chaumont, Bassin Nogentais et Bassin de Bologne Vignory Froncles, founded in 2016 . The residents call themselves Agevillois .
geography
The municipality of Ageville is located on the western edge of the Bassigny landscape north of the Langres plateau , 17 kilometers east of the departmental capital Chaumont . The community area of 19.55 km² has a mixture of fields, meadows and small wooded areas in the middle and in the east. The western third of the municipality is occupied by a forest ( Forêt Domaniale d'Ageville ), which is part of a much larger forest area and extends to the city of Chaumont in the west. The river Seuillon flows into the Rognon at the southeastern boundary of the municipality , which flows through the municipality in a south-north direction. The highest point in the municipality is the 449 m high Le Buisson Brûlé in the south. The municipality includes the districts of Le Moulin d'Ageville and Le Févry. Ageville is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Esnouveaux in the north, Millières in the northeast, Mennouveaux in the east, Lanques-sur-Rognon in the south, Biesles in the southwest and west and Bourdons-sur- Rognon (point of contact) in the northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are four farms in the parish of Ageville (grain growing, cattle breeding, a winery).
Ageville is on the D1 road from Rimaucourt to Nogent . 22 kilometers south-east there is a connection to the Autoroute A 31 from Nancy to Dijon in the municipality of Val-de-Meuse . The station in the commune of Merrey, 23 kilometers to the east, is on the Culmont-Chalindrey-Toul and Merrey-Hymont-Mattaincourt railway lines .
