The canton of Bourbonne-les-Bains is a French canton located in the arrondissements of Chaumont and Langres , in the Haute-Marne department and in the Grand Est region ; its capital is Bourbonne-les-Bains .

The canton is located in the southeast of the Haute-Marne department.
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, twelve municipalities belonged to the canton of Bourbonne-les-Bains. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 36 in 2015. In addition to the previous 12 communes, communes came from the cantons of Val-de-Meuse (all 7 communes), Clefmont (7 of the 17 communes), Terre-Natale (6th of the 13 communes), Laferté-sur-Amance (2 of the 11 communes), Neuilly-l'Évêque (the commune of Frécourt) and Nogent (the commune of Is-en-Bassigny).

Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in March 2015, the canton of Challans consisted of the twelve municipalities of Aigremont , Bourbonne-les-Bains (main town), Coiffy-le-Haut , Damrémont , Enfonvelle , Fresnes-sur-Apance , Larivière-Arnoncourt , Melay , Montcharvot , Parnoy-en-Bassigny , Le Châtelet-sur-Meuse and Serqueux . Its layout corresponded to an area of 238.64 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 5204.

politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the three pairs of candidates achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, André Noirot / Mireille Ravenel (both UMP) won against Francine Claudon / Lionel Denizet (both FN ) with a share of the vote of 59.80% (turnout: 54.25%).
