Lavilleneuve is located around 29 kilometers east-southeast of the city of Chaumont in the east of the Haute-Marne department.

history

The mechanization of agriculture led to emigration in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Lavilleneuve is historically part of the Bailliage de Chaumont region within Champagne. The place belonged to the Bourbonne district from 1793 to 1801 and also to the canton of Montigny from 1793 to 2015 (name from 1974: Val-de-Meuse ).
