Avrecourt is a French commune with 114 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Langres .

geography

Avrecourt is located around 36 kilometers southeast of the city of Chaumont in the southeast of the Haute-Marne department.

history

The mechanization of agriculture led to emigration in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Compared to other municipalities in the region, however, the population decline was slight. Avrecourt historically belongs to the Bailliage de Langres within the province of Champagne . The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Langres. Also from 1793 to 1801 to the canton of Hortes and 1801 to 2015 to the canton of Montigny (name from 1974: Val-de-Meuse ). From 1972 to January 1, 2012, the municipality was incorporated into Val-de-Meuse . Between 1790 and 1794 Serfiliers was incorporated into Avrecourt.
