Heuilley-le-Grand is a French commune with 209 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Langres and the municipality association Pays de Chalindrey, de Vannier Amance et de la Région de Bourbonne-les-Bains, founded in 2016 .

The municipality of Heuilley-le-Grand is located on the southern edge of the Langres plateau , twelve kilometers south of Langres in the extreme south of the Grand Est region. The running waters in the municipality drain via the Vingeanne or the Salon to the Saône . The community area of 12.22 km² is predominantly characterized by pasture and arable land; only in the north and south-east there are larger forest areas ( Bois des Élus, Bois du Breuillot, Les Draises ). Heuilley-le-Grand is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Pailly in the north, Palaiseul in the northeast, Violot in the east, Rivières-le-Bois and Saint-Broingt-le-Bois in the southeast, Chassigny in the south and Villegusien-le-Lac in the west .

Between 1972 and 1991, Heuilley-le-Grand was part of the municipality of Le Pailly together with Noidant-Chatenoy , Palaiseul and Violot .

Economy and Infrastructure
Eight farms are located in Heuilley-le-Grand (grain cultivation, dairy farming, cattle breeding).
In the south-east of the municipality in the district of Les Varennes there is an underground military fuel store in a forest, which is operated by ODC Trapil .
There is a connection to the A 31 autoroute 20 kilometers west of Heuilley-le-Grand . The railway from Is-sur-Tille to Chalindrey ( Ligne d'Is-sur-Tille à Culmont-Chalindrey ) runs through the north of Heuilley-le-Grand . The nearest train station is in Chalindrey, eight kilometers away on the Paris – Mulhouse railway line .
