Vals-des-Tilles is a French commune with 167 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Champagne-Ardenne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Langres and the canton of Villegusien-le-Lac ( Auberive until 2015 ).

Vals-des-Tilles consists of the localities Chalmessin , Villemervy , Lamargelle-aux-Bois , Villemoron and Musseau . The administrative headquarters are in Chalmessin.

Vals-des-Tilles is about 40 kilometers north of Dijon . Vals-des-Tilles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vivey and Praslay in the north, Vaillant in the east and northeast, Chalancey and Mouilleron in the east, Cussey-les-Forges in the south, Grancey-le-Château-Neuvelle in the west and southwest, Poinsenot in the West and north-west and Villars-Santenoge in the north-west.
