Montcharvot is located about 50 kilometers southeast of Chaumont in the southeast of the Haute-Marne department.

history

The community was first mentioned in the 12th century. The mechanization of agriculture led to heavy emigration in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Montcharvot was part of the Bailliage de Langres within the royal province of Champagne . The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Bourbonne. Also from 1793 to 1801 to the canton of Coiffy la Ville and from 1801 to the canton of Bourbonne-les-Bains .
