Orcevaux is a French commune with 99 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Langres and to the municipal association Auberive Vingeanne et Montsaugeonnais, founded in 2010 . The inhabitants are called Orcivalliens .
geography
The municipality of Orcevaux is located in the south of the Langres plateau , about twelve kilometers south-southwest of Langres . The village of Orcevaux stretches along a steep slope sloping to the west above the Ruisseau de Flagey river. which flows a few kilometers further south into the upper Vingeanne . The 4.22 km² municipal area is characterized by a flat high plateau 100 meters above the river valley. The highest point in the municipality is reached here at 457 meters above sea level. Five wind turbines were installed on the windy high plateau in the northeast. Orcevaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brennes in the north, Verseilles-le-Haut in the east, Verseilles-le-Bas in the southeast, Baissey in the southwest and Flagey in the west.

The D 6 from Longeau-Percey runs through the municipality of Orcevaux and connects to the A 31 autoroute . The nearest train station is in Chalindrey, 17 kilometers away on the Paris – Mulhouse line .
