Grenant is a French commune with 148 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Langres and the Canton of Chalindrey .

Grenant is on the Salon River . The departmental roads D7 and D17 cross here. The neighboring municipalities are (clockwise from the north): Champsevraine , Saulles , Champlitte ( Haute-Saône department ) and Coublanc .

The place is documented in the historical sources of the Via Francigena (Sigerich von Canterbury). Today, however, the Via Francigena continues through the neighboring town of Coublanc to Dampierre-sur-Salon .
