Chambave is an Italian commune with 908 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Aosta Valley region . The municipality is located about 18 km east of the city of Aosta . Chambave is on the orographic left side of the Dora Baltea . The community lies at an altitude of 480  m slm and has an area of ​​21 km². The highest point of the municipality is the Mont Avic with a height of 3006  m slm

Chambave consists of the districts Arlier, Cesséyaz, Champlan, Chandianaz, Clapey, Croux, Fosses, Goillaz, Grenellaz, Guichet, Jovençanaz, Meyaz, Margnier, Montcharey, Ollières, Parléaz, Perret, Pilliolet, Plantaz, Poyaz, Praz, Promgassnet , Ronchère, Septumian, Tercy, Thuy, Valléry and Verthuy.

The neighboring municipalities are Champdepraz , Fénis , Pontey , Saint-Denis and Verrayes .

The patron saint is Lawrence of Rome whose festival is celebrated on April 7th.

Chambave is one of the most important wine-growing communities in the Aosta Valley (→ Viticulture in Italy ) and is famous for its Muscatel wines.
