Saint-Nicolas is an Italian commune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley . The community has 314 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), is located on the orographic left side of the Dora Baltea at an average altitude of 1200  m slm and has a size of 15 km².

The neighboring municipalities are Arvier , Avise , Saint-Pierre and Villeneuve .

The scattering community is spread over an extensive plateau that slopes down in steep steps to the valley of the Dora Baltea.

The parish church was mentioned in papal documents from 1176.

During the time of fascism , the village had the Italianized name of San Nicola d'Aosta .
