Brusson (Walser German Britze or Brützu ) is an Italian municipality in the Aosta Valley and has 862 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
location
Brusson is about 50 kilometers east of Aosta . The Verrès junction of the A5 motorway is around 16 kilometers from the village.
The municipality belongs to the Unité des Communes valdôtaines Évançon . The neighboring municipalities are Ayas , Challand-Saint-Anselme , Émarèse , Gaby , Gressoney-Saint-Jean , Issime , Saint-Vincent . The districts are Pasquier, La Croix, Vollon, Estoul, La Pilaz, Arcésaz, Extrepierre, Fontaine, Graines, Curien and Fénille.
From the district of Estoul (1815 m) you can walk to the Rifugio Arp mountain hut in 2 hours .
history
The place has existed since the Middle Ages. From 1939 to 1946 Brusson had the Italianized name Brussone .
economy
The most important industry in summer and winter is tourism. There are ski lifts and cross-country skiing trails. Milk and cheese are produced in agriculture.
Attractions
The Casa Beretta was built from 1968 to 1974 by the architect Mario Galvagni. In the village is the Villa Helvetia, built in 1913. It is a typical villa in the architectural style of the time. The castle of Graines is located near the village .
