Valgrisenche is an Italian commune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley . The community has 193 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is located at an average altitude of 1664 m above sea level. NN and has a size of 112 km².
Valgrisenche consists of the districts Revers, Prariond, Céré, La Frassy, La Béthaz, Planté, Chez-Carral, Darbelley, Gerbelle, Église, Mondanges, Bonne, Menthieu, Rocher, Usellières, Surier. The neighboring municipalities are Arvier , La Thuile , Rhêmes-Notre-Dame , Rhêmes-Saint-Georges , Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise (France) and Tignes (France)
Valgrisenche is located in the middle of the valley of the same name, very close to the Beauregard reservoir (French: Lac de Beauregard ).
The parish church was built in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 19th century. Only the bell tower dates back to the 14th century.
From the Surier district, the Rifugio Mario Bezzi and Rifugio Chalet de l'Épée can be reached within 2 hours. From the hamlet of Bonne you climb up to the Rifugio degli Angeli al Morion in 3h30 .
During the time of fascism , the place had the Italianized name Valgrisenza .
