Pollein is an Italian commune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley .

Pollein has 1537 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is 551 m above sea level. M. on the right side of the Dora Baltea near Aosta. The place is the starting point for hikes in the area of Monte Emilius .

The establishment of the place goes back to Roman times. In the Middle Ages, Pollein was part of the Quarters' domain. The parish church of the village dates from the 12th century.

Pollein consists of the districts (Italian Frazioni, French Hameaux) Chébuillet, Rabloz, Crêtes, Drégier, Chenaux, Chenières, Saint-Bénin, Tharençan, Moulin, Grand-Pollein, Petit Pollein, Donanche, Château, Autoport, Rongachet., Terreblanche and Tissonière.

Neighboring municipalities are Aosta , Brissogne , Charvensod , Quart and Saint-Christophe .

Pollein also has a car port on the Autostrada A5 (Italian: Autostrada della Valle d'Aosta , French: Autoroute de la Vallée d'Aoste ) for truck traffic from all over Europe.
