Pontboset is an Italian commune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley . The community has 170 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), is at an average altitude of 780 m slm and has a size of 33 km². The inhabitants are called Pontbosetini (Italian) or Pontbosards (French). Pontboset is a member of the Unité des Communes valdôtaines Mont-Rose .
Pontboset consists of the districts of Pont-Bozet (chef-lieu), La Place, Frassiney, Savin, Trambésère, Pialemont, Piolly, Vareisaz, Terrisse, Valvieille, Frontière, Écreux, Crest dessous, Crest dessus, Percellette, Folliettaz, Délivret, Fournier , La Bourney, Barmelle, Barmacrepaz and Châteigne. The neighboring municipalities are Arnad , Champorcher , Donnas , Hône , Issogne , Traversella and Vico Canavese .
The latter two municipalities are located in Piedmont and are part of the metropolitan city of Turin .
During the fascist era , the village was given the Italianized name Pianboseto .
