Occey is a French commune with 157 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Langres and to the municipal association Auberive Vingeanne et Montsaugeonnais, founded in 2010 .

geography

The municipality of Occey is located on the south-eastern edge of the Langres plateau , roughly halfway between the cities of Langres and Dijon . It is the southernmost commune of the Haute-Marne department and borders on the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region to the west, south and south-east . The 16.87 km² flat to slightly undulating municipal area is characterized by arable land; the only significant forest area is the Bois d'Occey in the southwest. The hamlets Sapho and Bel-Air (partially) belong to the community . Occey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Montsaugeonnais and Isômes and north, Cusey in the east, Sacquenay in the southeast, Chazeuil in the south and Selongey in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure

Ten farms are located in Occey, and they are involved in the cultivation of grain, pulses and oilseeds.

The D974 trunk road runs from Langres to Dijon on the western boundary of Occey . There is a connection to the A 31 autoroute 13 kilometers southwest of Occey . A stop six and a half kilometers north of Occey is on the railway line from Is-sur-Tille to Chalindrey ( Ligne d'Is-sur-Tille à Culmont-Chalindrey ).
