Is-sur-Tille is a commune with 4402 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Côte-d'Or in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs administratively to the Arrondissement of Dijon and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Is-sur-Tille .
geography
Is-sur-Tille is located about 20 kilometers north of Dijon on the Ignon River , which flows into the Tille here . The Tille forms the eastern boundary of the municipality. Is-sur-Tille is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Marey-sur-Tille and Villey-sur-Tille in the north, Crécey-sur-Tille and Échevannes in the northeast, Marcilly-sur-Tille in the east, Chaignay in the south, Diénay in the west as well Saulx-le-Duc in the northwest.
The former National Route 459 runs through the municipality .
