Maxilly-sur-Saone is a French commune with a population of 348 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Côte-d'Or in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dijon and the canton of Auxonne (until 2015 canton of Pontailler-sur-Saône ). The inhabitants are called Maximilliens .

Maxilly-sur-Saône is located about 30 kilometers east of Dijon on the Canal de la Marne à la Saône , which flows into the Saône here . Maxilly-sur-Saône is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Sauveur in the north, Talmay in the northeast, Heuilley-sur-Saône in the east, Perrigny-sur-l'Ognon in the southeast, Pontailler-sur-Saône in the south and southwest and Drambon in the West.
