Grosbois-en-Montagne is about 30 kilometers west of Dijon an der Brenne . The commune is surrounded by Uncey-le-Franc to the north and northwest, Saint-Mesmin to the north and northeast, Saint-Anthot to the east, Aubigny-lès-Sombernon to the southeast, Civry-en-Montagne to the south, Martrois to the west and Southwest and Soussey-sur-Brionne to the west.
