It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dijon and the canton of Saint-Apollinaire . The inhabitants of the municipality are called Acétillois or Acétilloises .

Arc-sur-Tille lies on the River Tille . The nearest large city, Dijon, is eleven kilometers away as the crow flies . Arc-sur-Tille is surrounded by the municipality of Arceau in the north, Belleneuve in the east, Remilly-sur-Tille in the south and Varois-et-Chaignot and Dijon in the west. To the south of Arc-sur-Tille there are several small lakes, some of which are used for water sports.
