The Brenne is a river in France that runs in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . It rises in the municipal area of Sombernon , generally drains in a north-westerly direction and flows 72 kilometers into the municipal area of Buffon as a right tributary into the Armançon . In the section between Pouillenay and the estuary, the Canal de Bourgogne uses the Brenne valley and accompanies the river at varying distances.
