Attractions

The Buffon forge , called Forges de Buffon , was established in 1768 by Georges-Louis Leclerc, Count of Buffon . The company active in the steel industry employed around 400 people shortly afterwards. As a result of a flood disaster in 1866, production had to be stopped. The building, which housed a cement factory from 1923 , has been a monument historique since 1943 and is privately owned.
