Montigny-sur-Aube is a French commune with a population of 264 (as at 1st January 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Montbard and the canton of Châtillon-sur-Seine (until 2015 Montigny-sur-Aube ). The inhabitants are called Montignois .

Montigny-sur-Aube is located about 72 kilometers north-northwest of Dijon an der Aube and in the Chambertin wine-growing region . Montigny-sur-Aube is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gevrolles in the north, Latrecey-Ormoy-sur-Aube in the northeast, Veuxhaulles-sur-Aube in the east, Courban in the south, Bissey-la-Côte in the west and southwest and Riel-les- Eaux in the northwest.
