Quincerot is a French commune with a population of 76 (as at 1st January 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Burgundy ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbard and to the Montbardois community association founded in 2005 . The inhabitants are called Quincyssois .
geography
Quincerot is located on the Armançon River , about halfway between the cities of Dijon and Auxerre and about seven kilometers west of the arrondissement capital of Montbard . Quincerot is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Rémy in the northeast, Montbard in the east, Crépand in the southeast, Saint-Germain-lès-Senailly in the south and Quincy-le-Vicomte in the west.
The D4 road from Montbard to Époisses runs through the municipality of Quincerot .
Place name
In 1801 the municipality was called Quincerot-lès-Montbard for a short time in order to be able to better distinguish it from the municipality of the same name Quincerot in the neighboring department of Yonne .
