Précy-sous-Thil is located in the center of Burgundy in the Morvan . The river Serein limits the municipality to the west. Précy-sous-Thil is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bierre-lès-Semur in the north and north-west, Le Val-Larrey with Flée in the north, Roilly in the north-east, Nan-sous-Thil in the east and south-east, Vic-sous-Thil in the south and Aisy-sous-Thil to the west.
