Parish Church of Saint-Grégoire

It was built on a granite rock in the 12th century. In contrast to the rest of the building, the Romanesque semicircular apse is not plastered on the outside. The bell tower is made of wood and is covered with slate . It has a side chapel which was reserved for the previous landlords .

Villargoix Castle

The former castle of Villargoix was probably built in the 13th century by the Mineure family. This land was transferred to the Sivry family through a marriage, who had the origins of today's castle built at the foot of the castle at the end of the 15th or beginning of the 16th century. The property remained in the family until it was sold to a citizen of Saulieu in 1550, but was returned to the Sivry family in 1621 via Antoinette de La Plume, widow of Guy de Sivry. Her grandson Roger de Balathier inherited the castle in 1663 and it remained in the hands of his descendants until the end of the 18th century. In 1788 it belonged to Regnault-César-Louis de Choiseul, Duke of Praslin and Peer of France , Marshal of the Royal Army. In 1869, considerable ruins of a castle and the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa were mentioned. In 1900 the curtain wall on the south side was torn down.

Today the castle is a permanent house with three buildings grouped around an inner courtyard open to the south. A courtyard gate with a drawbridge under a tower on the eastern wing allows access. Three loopholes served to defend this entrance. The inner courtyard is dominated by the two-story northern building. However, the eastern tract is the oldest. It is flanked on its north corner by a stair tower, which is reinforced with three loopholes for cannons, two more loopholes and a wooden weir bay above the stone lintel and consoles above its entrance. The moat that bordered the castle no longer runs on the north side, where a rock break made its width smaller. To the northwest of the castle, the ruins of a round tower can be seen, which was connected to the northwest corner tower via an arch. To the west of the castle, a large forecourt was converted into a farm today, which is surrounded by a wall and provided with a corner tower on the south-west side. The castle is privately owned and cannot be visited.
