Morvan Regional Natural Park
The Morvan Regional Nature Park ( French Parc naturel régional du Morvan ) protects the forests and heathlands of the Morvan . This French low mountain range in the Burgundy region is 60% covered by dense mixed forests.
The nature park was established in 1970 and is one of the largest nature parks in France with an area of 281,400 hectares . It comprises 117 municipalities in the Nièvre , Saône-et-Loire , Yonne and Côte-d'Or departments . The headquarters of the park administration with the attached exhibition is located in Saint-Brisson ( 47 ° 16 ′ 33 ″ N , 4 ° 5 ′ 55 ″ E, ).
