The main building was built in 1748 and rebuilt in 1766. The hospital was expanded and modernized in the 19th and 20th centuries and had 70 beds in 1937. The garden was redesigned in 1910. A children's ward was built in 1933 and rebuilt from 1954 to 1957; In 1965 an old people's home was built. The main building has the shape of a us due to the two side wings and has a small chapel with a campanile on the roof above.
