Base Palissy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Base Palissy ( German  "Palissy database" ) is a database of the French Ministry of Culture that lists movable cultural assets in France , for example furniture, paintings and church treasures . The name of the database comes from Bernard Palissy , a 16th century enamel artist . The base Mérimée lists the permanent cultural monuments .

Base Palissy was created in 1989 and put online in 1998. In 2005 it contained around 280,000  records , 110,000 of which came from the register of monuments historiques and 170,000 from France's national inventory of monuments ( Inventaire général du patrimoine culturel ). Illustrations and photos from Base Mémoire , an image database on French cultural monuments, can be accessed for 25,000 entries . In addition, extensive online dossiers are available for 5000 objects via the database .
