Toutry is a French municipality with 442 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Côte-d'Or in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016: Burgundy ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Montbard and the canton of Semur-en-Auxois .

The inhabitants are called Toutrysiens and Toutrysiennes .

geography

Toutry is located about 16 kilometers west of Semur-en-Auxois in the Région naturelle Auxois on the western border with the neighboring Yonne department .

Toutry is surrounded by the six neighboring communities:

Toutry lies in the catchment area of the river Seine . The Serein , a tributary of the Yonne , crosses the territory of the municipality together with its tributaries, the Sorbonnais, the Ruisseau de l'Étang and the Ruisseau de la Goulotte.

Population development

After records began, the population rose to a peak of 840 at the beginning of the 20th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to around 550 until after the Second World War. A phase of growth followed, which increased the number of inhabitants up to the 1970s rose to around 725 before another phase of stagnation set in, which continues to this day.

Attractions

Megaliths Les Perrons aux Souffleux

In 1867, the President of the Society of Sciences of Semur-en-Auxois discovered the scientific interest in the ibex for the geology of the Auxois. Four blocks are arranged in a north-northwest line and two are slightly away. Studies from 1959 have shown signs of human interference, such as bones, numerous blows with flint in the Neolithic , ceramics from the Gallo-Roman period . The blocks are made of a different rock than the subsurface and are unique in the area. Investigations from 1959 and 2008 found no traces of wedging. A straightening of the stones can thus be excluded. It is believed that the blocks of biotite and pink leuco granite are approximately 300 million years old and were transported from the nearby Morvan massif during an ice age approximately 100,000 years ago .

Toutry can be reached via the Routes départementales 4C and 954, the former Route nationale 454 and is connected to other municipalities in the region by a line of the regional bus network Mobigo , which runs from Dijon to Avallon .

The Autoroute A6 , called Autoroute du Soleil , crosses a small part of the municipality, but without a direct exit to the village. The closest exit 22 is about 15 kilometers away and serves the community of Avallon.

The high-speed line LGV Sud-Est from Paris to Lyon crosses the municipality without a stop. The closest train station is Le Creusot TGV station
