Belan-sur-Ource is a French municipality with 252 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Montbard and the canton of Châtillon-sur-Seine (until 2015 Montigny-sur-Aube ).

Belan-sur-Ource is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Autricourt in the north and north-west, Riel-les-Eaux in the north and north-east, Thoires in the east, Brion-sur-Ource in the south and south-east, Mosson in the south and Chaumont-le-Bois in the West and southwest.
