Quincy-le-Vicomte is a French municipality with 211 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Burgundy ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Montbard and to the Montbardois community association founded in 2005 . The inhabitants are called Quincyssois .
geography
Quincy-le-Vicomte is located on the Armançon River , roughly halfway between the cities of Dijon and Auxerre and about nine kilometers southwest of the arrondissement capital of Montbard . In the northwest of the municipality, the small river Ruisseau de Bornant forms the border with the Yonne department . Quincy-le-Vicomte is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rougemont in the north, Buffon in the northeast, Quincerot in the east, Saint-Germain-lès-Senailly in the southeast, Senailly in the south, Fain-lès-Moutiers in the southwest, Bierry-les-Belles- Fontaines in the west and Aisy-sur-Armançon in the northwest.
Place name
During the revolutionary period of the National Assembly (1792–1795) the municipality was called Quincy-sur-Armançon .
