Venarey-les-Laumes is a French commune with a population of 2,884 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Côte-d'Or in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Montbard and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Montbard . The inhabitants are called Laumois .
geography
Both the Oze (as the northern municipal boundary ) and the Brenne flow through Venarey-les-Laumes . Through the middle of the church is pulling ship channel Canal de Bourgogne . Venarey-les-Laumes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ménétreux-le-Pitois in the north, Grésigny-Sainte-Reine in the east and northeast, Alise-Sainte-Reine in the east and southeast, Mussy-la-Fosse in the south, Massingy-lès- Semur in the southwest and Grignon in the west and northwest.
Venarey-les-Laumes train station is on the Paris – Marseille line .
