Feigeli Prisor

Feigeli Prisor (* 1964 in Wittem ) is a Dutch musician of gypsy jazz ( guitar ).

Feigeli Prisor began his career in the Sinti community in Gerwen , the Netherlands ; his mentors were Jozef "Wasso" Grünholz and his nephew Stochelo Rosenberg . Soon he was performing with his own bands at the Gypsy Jazz Festival in Samois; he leads the formation Prisor Jazz Band , which also includes his nephew Sendelo Schäfer (guitar) and his brother-in-law Tchawo Adell (double bass). Under his own name he released the albums Old Memories (2008) and Gypsy's Heart (2009); Eddy Grünholz , Anton Sjarov and Ulli Bartel also worked on the latter . In addition to his own compositions, he interpreted jazz standards such as “ Body and Soul ”, “ Cherokee ”, “ I'm Confessin 'That I Love You ”, “ I'm Getting Sentimental Over You ” and “ My Blue Heaven ”. In 2012 the album Fetela followed , on which, in addition to his trio, soloists such as the violinist Tim Kliphuis , the clarinetist André Donni and the singer Nidja Prisor can be heard. He has also made guest appearances at numerous international festivals in England, France, Hungary and the Netherlands, and in 2017 at the Sinti Jazz Music Festival in Düsseldorf. Prisor lives in Gerwen.
