Ritary Gaguenetti (born September 18, 1978 ) is a French guitarist of gypsy jazz .

Live and act

Gaguenetti, who grew up in a Manouche family who wanted to settle in Dole , taught himself to play the guitar under the guidance of his father since he was 14 years old . In 1999, when he felt a certain tiredness, he gave up the guitar and devoted himself to hip-hop dance for two years. In 2001 the interest in guitar playing reawakened. After becoming friends with bassist Vladimir Torres, he founded his own quintet in 2002 with his father Robert and cousin Hervé Gaguenetti on rhythm guitars, Bernard Ariu on accordion and Torres on double bass. After several concerts in big cities, the band played at the Gipsy Swing Festival in Angers in May 2002 . Her first album Fara Ap Raïza (on the Passavant label) was well received by the critics; In November 2002 the ensemble recorded another self-published CD (with Matcho Winterstein). In 2003 there were several appearances at summer festivals in France; The quintet also presented itself at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine and at the International Gipsy Guitar Festival in Gossington. The band performed with Samson Schmitt ; Ariu left the group to pursue his personal projects. Andreas Öberg invited Gaguenetti and Yorgui Loeffler to Oslo, where they made a CD together for the Hot Club Records label in 2004 .

When Robert Gaguenetti withdrew for health reasons, Gaguenetti strengthened the remaining trio with guests such as the pianist Vincent Bidal and, on the album Ma mélodie (2004), the saxophonist Christophe Panzani and the violinist Jean-Marc Evert . Since he also played the electric guitar himself, a new sound was created. Tours to North America and guest performances in Augsburg and London followed, where the band recorded an album in 2007 in the QuecumBar. In the following year, the album Gipsy Soul , which was released in 2009, was created with Panzani and Bidal . Gaguenetti performed with his band until 2015.
