Lollo Meier

Lollo Meier (born February 23, 1962 in Limburg ) is a Dutch gypsy jazz musician ( guitar ).

Meier, who grew up in a family of musicians and is related to Fapy Lafertin and Stochelo Rosenberg , did not begin to play the guitar until he was twelve. In Belgium he formed his first band called Swing 42 before working with his ensemble Lollo Meier Szigano Swing , which included Silvia Gelbhart (violin), Bram van Es (guitar) and Jef van Gool (double bass). In 2001 he recorded his debut album Rencontres ; with his band he performed at European festivals, in 2002 at the Djangofollies in Brussels and the Breda Jazz Festival, in 2003 at the International Gipsy Guitar Festival in Gossington and in 2005 at the Festival L'Esprit Manouche in Samois. He recorded his album Hondarribia with woodwind player André Donni in 2005 , followed by Rosas (2006, with Tcha Limberger , Dave Kelbie and Andy Crowdy), Fleur Manouche (2011) and Plachterida (2012, with Fapy Lafertin). With his ensemble Fleur de Paris and Stochelo Rosenberg he can be heard on Le Quecumbar International Gypsy Swing Guitar (2010). In Germany he performed a. a. at the 15th Django Reinhardt Festival Hildesheim 2015 (with Paulus Schäfer ).
