The St. Andrews Trophy is one of the most traditional team competitions in amateur golf .

The St. Andrews Trophy has been held in even years since 1956. H. every two years and alternating with the Walker Cup every odd year . Teams of amateur golfers from Great Britain, Ireland and the European continent can participate. It is named after St Andrews on the east coast of Scotland . The organizer is The R&A of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews together with the European Golf Association .
