Dommarien is a French commune with 161 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Langres and to the municipal association Auberive Vingeanne et Montsaugeonnais, founded in 2010 . The inhabitants are called isômois .
geography
The municipality of Dommarien is located on the southeast edge of the Langres plateau , about 22 kilometers south of Langres and 40 kilometers northeast of Dijon . The Vingeanne flows through Dommarien , accompanied by the parallel Marne-Saône Canal with three locks in the municipality. The 17.75 km² flat to slightly undulating municipal area is characterized by arable land; the east of the commune is covered by the large Bois de Côte Aubert forest . The highest point is reached here at 350 meters above sea level. Dommarien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villegusien-le-Lac in the north, Chassigny in the northeast, Maâtz and Coublanc in the east, Choilley-Dardenay in the south and Le Montsaugeonnais in the west.
history
In 1972, Dommarien was incorporated into Chassigny (renamed Chassigny-Asey in 1972 ) and became independent again in 1990.

Economy and Infrastructure
Eight farms are located in Dommarien (grain cultivation, seed propagation and cattle breeding). The Marne-Saône Canal has berths for pleasure craft and a campsite.
To the west of Dommarien the trunk road D974 runs from Langres to Dijon , to the east the trunk road D67 from Langres to Gray . There is a connection to the A 31 autoroute 19 kilometers southwest of Dommarien . The stopping point, located six kilometers to the south-west of Isômes , is on the railway line from Is-sur-Tille to Chalindrey ( Ligne d'Is-sur-Tille à Culmont-Chalindrey ).
