Laneuvelle is located around 45 kilometers southeast of the city of Chaumont in the southeast of the Haute-Marne department.

history

The mechanization of agriculture led to heavy emigration in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Laneuvelle historically belongs to the Bailliage de Langres within the royal province of Champagne . The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Bourbonne. Also from 1793 to 1801 to the canton of Coiffy la Ville and from 1801 to 2015 to the canton of Varennes-sur-Amance (name 1972-2011: canton Terre-Natale).
