Garlasco Municipal Council

Garlasco (in the local dialect Garlàsc ) is a north-western Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9,633 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 18 kilometers west of Pavia and about 37 kilometers southwest of Milan in the Parco Lombardo Valle del Ticino . The Terdoppio flows through this part of the Lomellina , the western Po Valley , near the town of Garlasco .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in the 10th century. From the end of the Middle Ages, the lords of Garlasco called themselves Counts ( conti ).

traffic

The Strada Statale 596 dei Cairoli runs through the municipality from Mortara towards Pavia ( Autostrada A54 ). The A7 autostrada runs from Milan to Genoa a few kilometers east of Garlasco .

A station has existed since 1882 on the Vercelli – Pavia railway line .
