Zavattarello is a northern Italian municipality with 978 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pavia in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 37 kilometers south-southeast of Pavia on the Tidone in the Oltrepò Pavese and borders the province of Piacenza .
Zavattarello is a member of the I borghi più belli d'Italia association (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy).
history
The place is first mentioned in a document by Otto I (971/972). The area soon came under the rule of the Bobbio diocese.
traffic
The former Strada Statale 412 della Val Tidone (now a provincial road) runs through the municipality from Opera near Milan to Bobbio .
